After “Hisense,” you can see the number “55,” representing the screen size in inches. The letter “H” that follows tells us where the TV was manufactured. “H” means that it was made in China, “E” would mean it’s from Europe, “P” that it was made in Australia, “J” stands for Japan, and so on.

Following the letter “H” is the number “9,” representing the series of your Hisense TV. The number after that, or in this case “050,” is the TV’s design.

Finally, the letter at the end shows what year the Hisense TV was made. In this case, we have “E,” which stands for 2018. The letters of the alphabet go backward following the year of production. To be more precise, “D” is 2017, “C” is 2016, “B” is 2015, and “A” is 2014. The newer models are marked with the letter “F” for TVs made in 2019 and “G” for 2020.

Keep in mind that this model number only applies to Hisense TVs sold in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. The models sold in Europe are labeled using a different code.
