How To Identify the Model and Year of a Hisense TV

Each Hisense TV has a model number, but most people don’t know what it is or how to find it. If your Hisense TV breaks down or you’re experiencing a technical issue, you’ll need your TV’s model number to contact customer support. Similarly, if you want to replace a part of your TV, you’ll need to know the exact model and its year of production.

How To Identify the Model and Year of a Hisense TV

In this article, we’ll show you how to find the model number of your Hisense TV and the year it was made. We’ll also walk you through the process of interpreting your TV’s model number.

How to Find Your Hisense TV’s Model and Year

There are many reasons why you should know your Hisense TV’s model number and the year it was produced. For example, if your TV stops working or displays a glitch, you might be forced to call customer support. They won’t be able to help you unless you know the exact model number of your TV.

You may also need to find your TV’s model number to check its warranty coverage. What’s more, if you want to sell your TV, you’ll need to list the model number, the serial number, and how old the TV is in the ad.

The model number should be written somewhere on the original packaging, but most people throw away the box the TV comes in as soon as they unpack it. On some Hisense TVs, you can actually find the model number on the back of your TV. There should be a sticker on the bottom of the TV’s back side.

In case the sticker isn’t there, or if it has faded over time, you can find out your Hisense TV model and the year in a different way. This is what you need to do:

  1. Turn on your Hisense TV.
  2. Press the “Menu” button on your remote control.
  3. Choose “Settings” on the list of options.
  4. Navigate to “System” on the left sidebar.
  5. Proceed to “System Info.”
  6. Go to the “About” option.
  7. Find the model number and serial number on this page.

Keep in mind that there is a difference between a TV’s model number and serial number. Two Hisense TVs can have the same model number if they are manufactured and sold in the same region. However, every Hisense TV has a unique serial number.

The model number will be written as “MODEL NO,” while the serial number is just abbreviated to “SN,” and it’s usually under the model number. On some TVs, the model number will just be referenced as “M/N.”

You can use the model number to look up your Hisense TV and find more information online. Online user manuals are also sometimes available if you have the model number.

If you find a model number on the back of your TV remote, this isn’t the model number you need. It’s the remote control’s model number, so it won’t be of much use.

How to Understand Your Hisense TV’s Model and Year

Depending on the TV manufacturer, model numbers are written in different ways. For Hisense TVs, the model number is composed of letters and numbers, with the manufacturing year added to the code.

For example, let’s say your Hisense TV has the following model number: “Hisense55H9050E.” This text string may seem random, but it can tell you what year the TV was developed, how many inches the screen measures, its exact model, and other details. Let’s break it down.

After “Hisense,” you can see the number “55,” representing the screen size in inches. The letter “H” that follows tells us where the TV was manufactured. “H” means that it was made in China, “E” would mean it’s from Europe, “P” that it was made in Australia, “J” stands for Japan, and so on.

Following the letter “H” is the number “9,” representing the series of your Hisense TV. The number after that, or in this case “050,” is the TV’s design.

Finally, the letter at the end shows what year the Hisense TV was made. In this case, we have “E,” which stands for 2018. The letters of the alphabet go backward following the year of production. To be more precise, “D” is 2017, “C” is 2016, “B” is 2015, and “A” is 2014. The newer models are marked with the letter “F” for TVs made in 2019 and “G” for 2020.

Keep in mind that this model number only applies to Hisense TVs sold in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. The models sold in Europe are labeled using a different code.

Find Your Hisense TV Model Number and Year in Seconds

Instead of bending over backward to figure out your Hisense TV’s model number and year of production, this guide will help you find it with a few pushes of a button. Once you locate your TV’s model number, you’ll also know how to decipher the code and determine the year it was manufactured. Just don’t forget to check the back of the TV first, as the model number might be written there.

If it physically has the same design and model sticker details, yo can try to register it on the Hisense website.
Stacie says:
My bad. I just noticed it had the Vidaa operating system. Maybe the V is for Vidaa
Steve Larner says:
Yeah, the “V” is most likely representing the Vidaa OS.
Stacie says:
I just saw this Hisense tv on the Walmart app. 43A6GV. Is it from 2020? Why does it end with a V? Is it for value? No one has reviewed it yet so I can’t see how old the reviews are. I’m looking for a new tv but not one that was made that far back.
Steve Larner says:
I believe the “V” is for the Vidaa OS. So, it doesn’t;t have Google, amazon, or Roku OS. It has a proprietary operating system.

how do i look up on line?
Steve Larner says:
Look at the model number (receipt or box or back of TV) and browse for it on WalMart’s website. If you have a WalMart+ account, it should be in your purchases and will have a link to the product if it is still available. You should find the specs on it there. If not, you can browse other websites using the TV’s model number.
ANGWE-ASEN ORBAN COLLINS says:
Thanks,So interested,I just bought 43″ and will start using sooner,I really want how to identify fake and original Hisense TV if there is too
Steve Larner says:
Identifying a fake Hisense TV depends on location and exact model. Nigeria is known to have fake LG and Hisense TVs because the assembly plant resides there. In other countries, I’m not sure about it, plus Hisense may have other assembly plants worldwide. As for models, you can browse the internet for images to compare. Many stores offer front and back views, and you can compare the details. You can also look at the label on the back to confirm everything matches up. For instance, a fake Hisense TV may not say Assembled by Fouani Nigeria Ltd in Nigeria.
Mike Butcher says:
On my TV, there is a service code instead of a model number. The format is HU60N3500UW, which does not follow your model breakout.
