Enable Slow Motion

Recording slow motion video on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is like taking normal video with just one difference in terms of settings.

Step 1 – Open the Camera App

First, open your Camera app. You can do this from the Home screen by tapping on the Camera icon at the bottom or you can use Quick Ball buttons if you have this feature enabled on your phone.

Step 2 – Change Your Mode

From your Camera app, tap on Video and then Modes. Doing so will give you two options: time-lapse and slow motion. Tap on Slow Motion and you will be taken back to the main screen of the Camera app.

You can change the video resolution before you start by tapping on the Settings icon in your Camera app. For the back camera, you can choose between 720p HD, 1080p Full HD, and 4K Ultra HD.

Additionally, if you find that Slow Motion is not enabled, try changing your FPS setting.

Step 3 – Record Your Video

Now it’s time to record your video. Tap on the red record button to begin. When you are finished, tap on the button again. This time it should look like a circle with a red square in the middle.

Step 4 – Preview and Edit

To watch your recording, tap on the thumbnail in the lower left corner of your Camera app screen. Additionally, you can also find this video in your Gallery.

You may also want to edit your video using Xiaomi’s built-in editing feature, MI Video Editor. To access it, open the thumbnail of your clip and tap on the Edit option near the bottom of the screen.

If you’re wondering where your video trim option is, you might be surprised to know that It’s actually on by default when you access the thumbnail of your clip. Near the bottom of the screen, you should see various shots with blue brackets on either end. Drag the brackets to trim the beginning and end of your video.

Step 5 – Share Your Video

Lastly, you can share your video by tapping the Send option. This will bring up all available sharing options including cloud services, messaging apps, and social media platforms. In addition, you can tap on the More button to add the video to a Gallery album and save it to your phone.

Third-Party Apps

If you want additional editing options, you may need to head to the Play Store, where you’ll find plenty of options. In terms of editing options, the apps vary from beginner-friendly to advanced, so you may have to try a few to find the right one for you.

The MI community threads recommend apps like KineMaster, but this app is relatively advanced and may not be for you if you are looking for a straightforward video editing app.
