Buying sneakers and accessories from StockX is a great way to guarantee quality items. StockX truly makes an effort to authenticate everything and accept only products in deadstock condition.

But with that guarantee comes a lot of rules on how you sell and buy via StockX. This also means that once you order an item on StockX, you can’t cancel it. This might seem unfair, especially if you made a mistake.
But there’s a reason why StockX doesn’t just give you that option. But are there any exceptions? And what to do after you receive your order?
Why StockX Won’t Cancel Your Order
When your Bid or Ask on StockX is accepted, the process of creating your order is automatic. When you created your StockX account, you entered all your information, including payment method and billing info.
So, at the same time, the seller was notified about the purchase, and you’ll receive a confirmation of your order. StockX has created this system to preserve the integrity of the marketplace.
The company has to do this if they want customers and sellers to buy into its ethos. If someone can cancel a bid because they’ve changed their mind or because they’re chasing a higher price, that disturbs the way StockX does business.
When you purchase something on StockX, the seller and StockX expect the process to continue. So, the lack of a “Cancel order” feature on the purchase page makes a lot of sense. That’s why StockX prompts you to confirm your order several times before you complete the purchase itself.

Are There Any Exceptions?
The StockX rule about no cancelations ensures that every party entering the bidding process has clear intent of following through. But is there something to be done in case of accidental purchases?
What if you want a particular pair of shoes, but you’ve selected the wrong size? Or your fingers were too fast, and now you’re expecting an order you can’t afford?
Well, your best shot here is to contact StockX directly. If you make your case convincingly, there’s a chance they’ll let you off the hook – if only once. But there are no guarantees.
You can write a heartfelt explanation letter to their support team and hope for the best. And if you’re more comfortable with a shorter and more public plea, you can send them a tweet using the @stockx handle.
You should also contact them if the seller failed to send the product when they were supposed to. According to StockX guidelines, the sellers need to ship an item within two business days. Then, it’s up to StockX to do an authentication process.
However, if the seller doesn’t send it, you can reach out to StockX support and ask them to cancel your order. The odds are that they will agree to do so. The seller will then have to pay a penalty fee or even have his StockX account suspended.

What to Do with the Wrong Order?
If you were unable to cancel your order on StockX by explaining your situation to their support, that’s too bad. But not all is lost. Since you’ve purchased StockX, you have the guarantee of authentication and quality.
This means you can re-sell sneakers or other items quickly. And who knows, maybe you can even earn back the money you’ve spent on shipping. You can use StockX to place them on sale and see if you can get a better price.
You could also sell them on other websites, but be sure to mention that you have the StockX tag of authentication to prove the item is deadstock. If you’ve only ever bought on StockX and never sold anything, you might be apprehensive about the process.
But StockX makes everything easy. You don’t have to take any pictures or write witty descriptions. All you have to do is browse through the extensive catalog of items and select.
Then you can either place an Ask or Sell Now; that’s up to you. You can even decide how many days you want your item to be up for sale. When that time expires, StockX will notify you and ask if you wish to renew.

Hitting the “Buy” Button Carefully
It’s easy to get carried away on StockX. There are so many fantastic shoes, hats, bags, watches, and collectibles available. And everything is in flawless condition and comes in an original box. But “buyer regret” is a real thing, and you might start panicking after a purchase.
If you’re sure that you can’t afford an item, or you’ve just made a mistake, rush over to the StockX Twitter pager or email their support. And then just sit tight and hope for the best.
