The game won’t allow you to change your username as soon as you start playing it, as it needs some progression. Also, taking on a different moniker for a second or third time will require gems, the in-game currency you can buy with real-life money.

How to Change Your Name for the First Time in Clash of Clans

To change your name for the first time in Clash of Clans, you’ll first need to reach level five with your town hall. From there, the name-changing option can be accessed easily:
