Change the Color of Arrow Shapes in Google Slides

If you’ve added an arrow as a shape in Google Slides, follow these steps to change its color:

  1. In your Google Slide, click on your arrow shape.
  2. Select the “Fill Color” icon to the right of the “Line” icon.
  3. Choose a color from the color grid options.

When you need a specific color not available on the color grid, do the following:

  1. Click on the “+” icon under “Custom” in the color grid options.
  2. Move the color slider to a color of your choice.
  3. Click and drag on the circle in the color box to choose a brighter or darker version of your color choice.

To use the custom color for other arrow shapes on the slide without having to go through the above steps again, do the following:

  1. Click on an arrow shape.
  2. Go to the “Fill Color” icon to open the drop-down color grid.
  3. To the left of the “+” icon under “Custom,” click on the color you created.

If you want to use the same color on different arrow shapes in other Google Slide presentations, follow these steps:

  1. In your Google Slide, click on the arrow with your new color.
  2. Select the “Fill Color.”
  3. Under “Custom” in the color grid, click on the “+” icon next to your new color.
  4. In the box labeled “Hex,” copy the color code.
  5. Open a different Google Slide.
  6. Click on an arrow shape to change the color to your new one.
  7. Go to the color grid to add your new custom color using steps 2 and 3.
  8. Paste the “Hex” color code you copied.

To Change the Border Color of an Arrow Shape in Google Slides:

  1. Click on the arrow shape.
  2. Select the “Border Color” pencil icon to the right of the “Fill Color” icon.
  3. Choose a color option from the grid or create a custom one using the abovementioned steps.

To adjust the weight/thickness of the border, click on the “Border Weight” icon to the right of the “Border Color” icon.

If you want to show the border of the arrow but have the arrow itself be transparent, select the arrow, click on the “Fill Color” icon, then click on “Transparent” at the bottom of the color panel.

  1. Open the slide containing the line arrow (s).
