iPhone 7 – How to Change Lock Screen

Customizing your iPhone 7 can be a fun thing to do. Even though there aren’t as many customization options as available on an Android phone, there are still enough things that you can do to make the phone uniquely your own.

Changing the Lock Screen Wallpaper

Changing the wallpaper of both your lock screen and home screen is simple and requires no more than a couple of taps. Here’s how to do it:

Go to Settings > Wallpaper.
Tap the Choose a New Wallpaper
You’ll see all the folders that contain wallpapers. Navigate to a photo and tap on it.
You can set the image to either the Still or Perspective If you choose Still, you’ll have a static wallpaper. If you go with Perspective, the image will move slightly as you tilt your device. Choose your preferred setting, then tap Set.
You’ll get the option to set the image as a home screen or lock screen wallpaper, or both. Tap on the preferred option.

Adjusting Touch ID and Passcode Settings

Within the Touch ID and Passcode settings, there are many customization options to choose from. The first one you should know about is the ways of unlocking your iPhone, aside from Touch ID. Once you go to Settings > Touch ID and Passcode, you’ll be asked to type in your current password, after which you’ll be able to choose a new one.

Go to Passcode Options to set the preferred passcode type. You can set a custom numeric, 4-digit numerical, or an alphanumeric passcode.

Choose a new passcode, repeat it, and you’ll have changed the way of accessing your phone from the lock screen.

Another thing that you can do from within the Touch ID and Passcode settings is grant access to various functions. Depending on your preferred settings, you’ll be able to see a varying amount of information and control different features from the lock screen.

Under Allow Access When Locked, you can toggle certain features on and off.

It’s always generally recommended that you keep personal information hidden and disable apps such as Wallet from the lock screen. On the other hand, you should enable as many features as you can so that you don’t have to unlock your phone to perform some mundane tasks.
