Moon Druids are focused precisely on this ability, and they can unlock more shapeshifting forms early on in the game compared to other subclasses. The Circle of the Moon is the best choice for those who want to be a DPS Druid.

Regarding the race, a Wood Elf perfectly combines with Druids, considering Wood Elves increase movement speed and allow you to use Fey Ancestry and Darkvision. This race also boosts your Wisdom, a primary stat for the shapeshifter class. For your Druid build to be complete, you must choose a suitable background. In this case, you can either select Folk Hero or Outlander. Both backgrounds give you Survival proficiency; while Folk Hero Druid is proficient in Animal Handling, Outlander provides Athletics skills.

The choice here depends on your style and whether you want to be skilled at climbing, jumping, and traveling the lands or have the ability to talk to animals.

Light Domain Cleric

Clerics are known for their extraordinary healing powers. However, if you’d rather deal damage picking Light Domain as your subclass will help you achieve this goal.
