We’d all like to better understand our customers and what they want, but measuring those preferences and reactions objectively can be difficult. There are many strategies out there that claim to help do this, but now AI does too. Entropik AI, through its Decode platform, claims to provide the machine learning power to do this.
Does it live up to the hype? Read our Entropik AI review to find out.
Know Your Audience – Our Entropik AI Review
Let’s get straight into it and see what Entropik AI has to offer users:
What’s It All About?

Founded in 2016 by Ranjan Kumar, Lava Kumar, Ashwin Raguraman, and Bharat Singh Shekhawat, Entropik AI is a tool designed to help with research. Entropik’s current Decode platform combines consumer insights, user research, AI-moderated interviews, creative testing, and research analysis in one platform. But our focus is on the second: Decode.
Decode claims to provide human insights through AI-boosted technology. These features include:
- Facial coding
- Eye-gaze tracking and attention analysis
- Voice AI and voice-based sentiment/emotion analysis
It also includes an AI moderator, Mira, which can conduct AI-moderated interviews and adapt its questioning based on participant responses.
Decode is designed to help with both quantitative and qualitative research and boasts 17 patents for its technology. But can this help with better understanding human emotion?
The Imprecise World of Human Emotion
There have been a lot of attempts to gauge intentions and personalities from certain external cues throughout history. Handwriting analysis, for example, claims to tell you all you need to know about a person by the way they put pen to paper.
That said, academic research does not support treating observable facial or vocal cues as definitive readouts of a person’s internal emotional state. In fact, there’s a lot of disagreement about anything said to be definitive. As such, it’s very hard to gauge how successful Entropik AI would be at its job, especially seeing that it lacks any robust criteria to measure up to.
Perhaps the company is aware of this too, veering away from solely promoting emotional understanding to a broader “human insight” instead.
Cost and Offering

When starting out, Decode was just for enterprises, but now offers opportunities to test the waters before you commit. Decode currently offers a free plan with one researcher seat, up to three studies, 100 responses per month, AI moderation, and limited access to Emotion AI and eye-gaze features. Enterprise pricing is available by contacting sales.
Enterprise is still where all the power lies, in terms of access to global participants and higher intelligence, but it’s good to know an alternative exists.
A Quick Walkthrough
Let’s take a quick look at how Decode works the first time you use it:
Step 1. Create your account and verify it.
Step 2. Setup your area of research and answer other questions to better help Decode assist you.

Step 3. Once set up, you’ll be taken to your dashboard. Here you can create new studies (up to three with the free tier) and start setting meeting details. You’ll also have an AI assistant to help facilitate things.
